Jardines Park, SBS Bank support expansion of pump track and area maintenance. Nathan and his crew have been super busy over the last month juggling a whole lot of club stuff. One of the projects was to get the jardines pump track a much needed expansion, check out the photo’s and get along to the SBS Bank Jardines family bike jam on Saturday 13th November 12 – 4pm. Next Trail day this Saturday 30th, 10 – 4 pm. Meet at hub. Bikes welcome, ride after digging.
The ‘Pub on Wharf’ are offering diggers a free pint to quench ya thirst. Come along and dig and get yourself a free beer voucher…..terms and conditions apply. Meet up at Pub on Warf at 5pm afterwards for a group beer! If you have been to a dig day in the last fre months come along for a free beer to thanks to Pub on Warf!
7 mile is riding very well after some productive seasonal maintenance, a busy few weeks has seen most trails get some attention. A New link from the end of ‘Gravitron’ up into Loop 7 has been opened. Kachoong has been buffed out and is riding super smooth, not so many holes and braking bumps now. Get into it while it is good!
A small turnout (7) to the trail day on Saturday but some big things achieved. The ‘Fruit Loop’ gets spiced up! New trail layout on the Fruit Loop, the climb out of fruit loop has been changed to a downhill flow. Please follow trail signage and respect any closures. This section of track that was seeing little use will now offer a bit of variety lower on the hill, some great little table top jumps and berms. Perfect to hone your skills and get ya pump and flow on……
If anyone knows anything about an Ironhorse Hardtail that went missing at 7 Mile please contact us by leaving a comment on the QMTBC website.
In the owners own words: “On Sat 23nd I was riding on my own at 7 mile. Took a small jump and did a lovely face plant. end result was cracked ribs and a badly broken arm. Anyway, there was no way I could get my bike back to the car so I left it on the side of the track thinking that mtb riders are a honest bunch and I could pick it up later. Long story short, went up there today and it’s gone. if anyone knows where it is can you give me a yell. it’s a Ironhorse hard tail.”
