Check out the great post and video for a few giggles on Outside Sports’ new blog http://outsidesports.posterous.com/cyclocross-youd-be-mad-to-miss-this. Helpful if you are asked to describe what cyclocross is and for giving it a reason!

We please need 2 responsible volunteers to do the timing for the Cyclocross race at Jardine Park on Saturday 2nd July from 12pm – 4pm. This will be a great and fun event to be involved in.
Please contact Carey Vivian at carey@vivianespie.co.nz if you are keen to help out, as we would really appreciate it.

The mountain bike club’s new president Tom Hey has been hard at work over the last year putting together proposals and support for building a load of new trails in the region. These trails are intended to link together a lot of the existing trails and trail area’s to allow much bigger rides without having to link them with roads. Keep any eye out on the club’s website for updates.
The Otago Daily times has a good article about it here: http://www.odt.co.nz/news/queenstown-lakes/164155/riders-aim-fill-gaps-wakatipu-trail-network.

The Queenstown Mountain Bike club is the proud owner of a brand new high powered brushcutter to be used to maintain and build new trails. With the help of this labour saving device the club will be better able to maintain the current trail network and it will undoubtedly be invaluable when all the new trails that are planned for the region are given the green light.

Loads of keen bikers turned up to Revolver on 8th June to watch the NZ premier of 3 Min gaps, it was a great night and a great movie that was enjoyed by all. The door sales all went to the mountainbike club which raised over $800 that will be used to help maintain the trails around Queenstown. Huge thanks to Revolver for a great night and putting it back into the community!
