Linger and Die or sit around twiddling your thumbs waiting for the Skyline Gondola to open?

The weekend consists of two great events; the Dam Downhill race on Saturday at the Clyde Dam and the Cross Country at Alexandra on Sunday.

The cross country race is up there amongst my favorite races (Susan writing this) as its an intricate course, really well marked with great varied terrain good uphills, technical downhills, you have to carry your bike in parts so don’t expect a Motatapu style farm track – expect an old school REAL mountain bike race. A friendly field with great prizes - I went away with a bottle of wine last year, so can’t complain!
