Calling all photographers

Queenstown Mountain Bike club have decided to produce a 2013 Wall Calendar and are going to be running a competition to find the best photos taken around the region. We're building a list of themes for the photos to ensure that we get a good mix of images from the various different club sites and riding areas around the Wakatipu.  We are hoping to capture the seasons and the 'feel' of the mtb scene here as well as providing an opportunity for you to show your creativity and what mountain biking means to you.

The full details of how to enter will be up on the website within the next couple of weeks.  The competition will be open to both professionals and amateurs of all ages and will be free to enter so long as you have a current ie 2011/12 season Queenstown Mountain Bike Club membership.

We're looking for one sponsor per month and the sponsors will have a choice of theme on a first come-first served basis. The first sponsor to sign up, almost before the idea was on the table, was Vivian + Espie - resource management and landscape planning advisers.  Carey Vivian is a longstanding member of the Club and well known for introducing new events and more extreme variations on the theme of mountain biking every year.  The National Single Speed Champs in 2010 and the National Cyclocross Champs last year are a couple of his recent successful events.  Vivian + Espie have opted to sponsor the Cyclocross themed photo so that's yet another reason to go along to the series planned for this winter in Frankton - just remember to take a mud guard for your camera! As always, all proceeds from the sale will go to the club to be used in helping to build and maintain the fantastic trail network we have here in Queenstown.  If you're interested in sponsoring the calendar call Sarah on 021 887 903 for more information.
