With the new trail into 7 Mile from the town end car park complete we can start work on a new trail this Wednesday. Most likely we will be making a start on the Moke lake road bypass trail. This trail will run up the 7 Mile creek across the road from the 7 Mile town end carpark. The trail will wind through historic mining remains using old gold trails. We have permission from DoC to start clearing the trail but not to do the actual trail building as we are waiting on sign-off from the Historic places trust. They just need to review and sign-off the archaeologists report that is now complete. Once this report is signed off and the management agreement between the club and DoC is signed we can break ground! We are also close to having permission to build a new XC trail from the bottom of Coronet Peak (Greengates chair) to Skippers Saddle (top of Zoot). Stay tuned for more info on this exciting new trail! As you can see all this takes time and a lot of work to get organised [great work Tom!] as we need to make sure that everything is in place so the trails we build will be sustainable for the foreseeable future. So keep supporting your club and we will keep growing the trail network for you!
