Great news this week as Fat Tyre Adventures join the list of Sponsors for the 2013 QMTBC Calendar. They have snapped up the Wakatipu Back Country theme as this is a great fit with their guided trips around the region. Fat Tyre Adventures are Queenstown's original mountain bike guiding specialists. Started by Greg McIntyre in 2001, they're local riding enthusiasts keen to show you the thousands of kilometers on thousands of hectares of private high country sheep farms and conservation land they have access to. All well away from the crowded trails close to town. Greg says, "Fat Tyre Adventures have private and Department of Conservation land concessions on five different mountain ranges giving us the ability to access rides that no one else can. The trails are mostly very natural with amazing scenery, a range of rocky steep, narrow trails or fast open smooth trails with the odd cow and sheep (it is New Zealand!). On the ‘gravity’ trails the descents are huge - with some offering over 1800m of downhill. These trails could be the best trails you have ever ridden." Check out their website (www.fat-tyre.co.nz) for more info. We're stoked that they have decided to support the Club and the Calendar as there are some amazing photos in the Back Country theme already - you can check them out here and there's still time to enter your own photos here. Watch this space for some news about prizes next week!
