The good fullas at R and R Sports have just signed up to adopt our newly born trail Gold Digger. This will be a test case for an adopt a trail scheme that will look after the basic maintenance of trails around the Queenstown area. We took a ride with Willy up Gold Digger and pointed out tasks that may need carrying out. The main tasks will be keeping branches etc off the trail and out of your face and managing any water issues. As Gold Digger is at the bottom of a steep sided valley it cops a lot of moisture seeping down the hills. Willy and the crack team at R and R plan to tackle these one by one to make Gold Digger as all weather as possible. Willy said that he was looking forward to heading in with the staff and thinks that the dig sessions will be great for teambuilding whilst doing something worthwhile for the community. We agree! If this test case is successful (which we are sure it will be) then we will be looking for adoptees for some of our existing and planned trails. It will not cost you anything to adopt a trail, just time to get stuck in make riding in QT as good as possible. For more info on adopting a trail contact email@example.com By keeping on top of the basic maintenance of existing trails then QMTBC can free up time to organise building new ones like Rude Rock. Yeow!
