Countdown to Bike Festival

The Festival of events The Queenstown Bike Festival events’ line up is stacking up to be the perfect way to showcase not only some of New Zealand’s and the world’s top riders but also a community spirited festival with a medley of social and family orientated events. We have an incredible line up of internationally recognised hardcore riders that take riding bikes very seriously. But the Festival is not just that, there are events for everybody: kids, families, bike fanatics and wannabes. For the ladies: check out the Diamonds in the Rough on Monday 14th April. As you may or may not know, the festival is run under the umbrella of the Bike Queenstown Charitable Trust, and we thank its trustees for their support and input, and for the above mentioned company and trusts for their generous help and contribution. Vertigo Bikes Super D A six hour non-stop tag team or individual mountain bike race, where the best downhillers, XC riders and enduro riders face off;   Konica Minolta Kids Mini X held in the Arrow River environments with races and course for all age groups ;   Vertigo Bikes Dirtmasters Downhill held on a challenging course in the Queenstown Bike Park. New course, great PRIZE MONEY, Mens Open 1st prize $600, 2nd $300 men, 3rd $150. For the ladies. Open 1st prize $300, 2nd $150, 3rd $75;   Queenstown Slopestyle, a heart stopping display of bike acrobatics in the Ballarat Street Car Park; come and watch some of the best throw themselves and the bikes through the air Check the Devel Burger Airbag Jam on Weds 16th in a practise session for the slopestyle. Enduro enduro race based on Coronet Peak. Start at the top and end up in the valley floor after 5 or 6 stages;   New World Tour de Wakatipu, 36km or 45km ride from Arrowtown to Chard Farm, a classic mountain bike ride in the autumn leaves   R&R Sport Mega Avalanche, a marathon style event that mixes gravity-assisted excitement with high levels of fitness.   Note: entries are still open for all the events.   QUEENSTOWN BIKE FESTIVAL Like us on facebook to keep up with the action. . . . . . . . .
