Please don’t ride on NZ’s heritage sites

DoC has contacted us with a reminder that mountain biking on 19th century gold mining sites is illegal under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014 (it’s been illegal since 1975 as it causes damage such sites). The penalties are quite severe so it’s very important to respect this Act.  Also, biking in DoC Reserves is not allowed without their permission.

Thanks for your cooperation, a lot of the trail development QMTBC achieves is down to working with the good people at the Department of Conservation so if you want more bike tracks please ride hard and do skids on the QMTBC tracks but keep off the heritage sites and DoC land.
