2024 Spring Trail Update!

20th November 2024

Coronet Peak:

This spring we spent $23,600 giving Morning Glory and Hot Rod a refresh to make them EPIC to ride this summer! Huge thank you to Tom and his crew at Elevate Trail Building for all their great work!

Carry On has just had a spring buff up and has had its ruts removed and vegetation cleared. Rude Rock will be closed again from tomorrow through to the end of next week (25th - 29th November) while the crews work on it’s spring refresh. Sections of the trail are still pretty wet so Rude Rock will remain closed while this work is taking place.

Work on clearing the slips in Skippers is making good progress. There has been some delays due to the slips being wet and unstable. The crews are aiming to get the skippers trails back open by the end of next week (29th November) if conditions allow.

Queenstown Trails and Kep from Dirt Design have started work on clearing the slips on the Coronet Face Water Race. The Coronet Loop trail is expected to be back open in early December once the Skippers and Coronet Face Water Race slips have been cleared and trails are reopened.

Fernhill:

McNearly Gnarly refresh is still ongoing but the trail is open in the evenings and weekends if conditions allow. If there has been heavy rain the trail will be closed to protect the fresh trail work so please don’t ride it if it’s been wet!

The slip has been cleared off Beeched As. Lower Wynyard Express is back open now that the slips have been fixed and the crews have given it a quick buff up. Fingerling is currently closed, trail crews are on it at the moment to fix wet spots and drainage but it should be back open in a couple of days. Our Wednesday Dig crew are currently working on extending the start of Wedge up towards the start of McNearly Gnarly.

7mile/Phoenix/Upper BLT Trails:

Our trail crews will be heading into these areas once the work on Coronet trails is completed.
